Jeopardy Teen Champ Claire Sattler Wiki: Her Family & Personal Life Insight

Claire Sattler became the champion of Jeopardy! Teen Tournament in 2018. As a winner. she took home the prize money of $100,000.

Hailing from Bonita Springs, Florida, she is now a senior at Yale University. After four years of becoming a champion, she is returning to the show on the first-ever Jeopardy! High School Reunion Tournament in 2023.

The 14-day tournament features 27 students who competed in the teen tournament. Likewise, the winner will get a cash prize of $100,000 and earns a spot in the Tournament of Champions.

Sattler will face two more contestants; Rohan Kapileshwari, a Senior at the University of Texas at Austin, and Rhea Sinha, a graduate of Cornell University. Her episode will air on 27 February 2023.

Sattler is 21 years old now. She was 17 years old when she became a Jeopardy! Teen Tournament champion.

Standing at a height of 5 feet 5 inches, she is a passionate golfer and began playing golf at age three. She was on the high school golf team and utilized her scientific skills to further her understanding of the mechanics of her golf swing.

Claire started watching Jeopardy at an early age with her family. She used to watch the kids’ tournament and matched all answers on the episode. She has been involved in the high school quiz bowl, and her strong categories were the science questions and the pop culture questions.

Claire was raised by her parents Steve Sattler and Stacie Sattler in Bonita Springs, Florida, United States. Her parents played an important role and provided every material to boost her general knowledge.

The contestant’s father Steve serves as a Divisional Quality Manager at Progress Rail Services Corporation. Likewise, her mother Stacie serves as the Director of Warehousing and Distribution at Arthrex, a medical device manufacturing company. 

Not only her parents but also her maternal grandparents Al Ringgenberg and Colleen Ringgenberg are fans of the popular quiz game show. Her parents and grandparents are more than happy and proud of her accomplishments.

Claire received cash prizes as well as backlashes after winning Jeopardy! Teen Tournament. She faced horrific cyberbullying on the internet.

The 21-year-old stated that she was flooded with nasty messages and some people even found her private social media accounts and ‘stalked’ her. Moreover, she claimed that some internet users accused her of having intercourse with the then-host Alex Trebek in exchange for the answers.

Sattler has opened up about the traumatic backlash in the TikTok videos. Her videos have gone viral with thousands of views within a short time.

Claire Sattler High School & College

Sattler attended Bishop Verot Catholic High School in Fort Myers, Florida. There, she was also involved in extracurriculars including sports and theatre. 

After graduating in 2019, she went to study at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She is studying biomedical engineering because she has a passion for innovating, creating, and using the STEM fields to positively impact the lives of others.

Furthermore, Claire is a Sheltzer Lab Research Intern at Yale School of Medicine. She was a Clinical Medical Education Intern at Arthrex.
