Who Is Julie Sisson From Jeopardy? Her Wiki & Family Life Details

Julie Sisson is a library circulation assistant from Everett, Washington. She will appear as a contestant on the last week of the 39th season of the popular quiz game show, Jeopardy!

In the new episode, she will face two contestants; a returning champion Taylor Clagett, a marketing director from Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, and Andrew Knowles, a psychologist resident from Portland, Oregon. 

Taylor is now a two-day Jeopardy champion with total winnings of $31800. He booked his second straight win on the 24 June episode yesterday where he ended up with a final score of $21,000.


On the other hand, Julie is excited about her debut on the longest-running quiz game show. She took the 50-question Jeopardy! Anytime Test last year and it was her third time testing for the show over 10 years. 

A few months later, she was invited for the second test and the final round was a Zoom audition in February 2023. Likewise, in May 2023, she went to Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California to tape the show.

Several Everett residents have competed on Jeopardy before her. Former Everett library youth services librarian Sarah Walsh was on the show in 2017 and another Everett resident Nick Spicher, an educator at Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett competed on Jeopardy! in 2018.

Sisson has reached the age of 49 years old now. She was born in the year 1973 and her birthday falls in the month of August.

Hailing from Sedalia, Missouri, she spent her early life with her family here.  A Jeopardy fan, she started watching the show as a kid with her grandmother and it is the only TV game show she watches.

One night, she had insomnia at 2 or 3 in the morning and thought to take a Jeopardy Anytime test. Moreover, she prepared for the show by reading kids’ reference books.

Julie prefers doing crafts at home and going to baseball games. She is also involved with the non-profit organization named PEO International and is a member of Chapter Alabama, Washington.

Sisson pursued her high school education in her hometown. Afterward, she went to Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the year 1993.


As of now, she holds a job as a library circulation assistant based in Everett, Washington. She has been working at Everett Public Library’s Evergreen branch for more than a decade, joining in 2008.

Prior to that, she worked as a library circulation assistant at merchandise in various departments at Walmart.

Sisson is a married woman. She has been enjoying a same-sex marital relationship with his wife Debbie Barbay for several years.

Barbay is a native of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and is an optician by profession. She now works as a licensed optician at Pearle Vision, an American chain of eye care stores in Lake Stevens, Washington.

Prior to that, she served at Walmart Lynnwood from 2006 to 2023. Moreover, she is a graduate of Denham Springs High School and Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge.
