A sports journalist and announcer from Chicago, Illinois, he appeared on the 21st September 2022 episode. He took the lead in round 1 by correctly answering 20 questions and scoring $6,800.
Moreover, he landed third in The Double Jeopardy but in the final round, he ended with zero dollars. He is making a return on the show this season.
Pennant is one of the other nine players who are returning on the show for a chance to advance to Winter 2024’s Champions Wildcard. The Road to the 31st Jeopardy Tournament of Champions began on 19 December 2023 and is running in its second week.

On the new episode, he will face two previous season contestants; Emily Kawaler, a bioinformatician from New York, New York, and Myles Karp, a journalist and consultant from Weston, Florida. Emily made her Jeopardy appearance on the 29 December 2022 episode whereas Myles appeared on the 10 February 2023 episode.
