There, she has been serving as the weekend daybreak meteorologist for more than a year. She joined the station in January of 2023. Moreover, she is excited to serve the Central Texas community forecasting the dynamic, everchanging weather there.
Prior to that, she worked as the weekend meteorologist at WMBB News 13 in Panama City, Florida. She covered a range of severe and tropical weather systems and long hot summers at the ABC and The CW Plus-affiliated station for nearly two years, joining in March of 2021.

Thornton was an operational meteorologist for a non-broadcasting company named Maxar Technologies forecasting crop futures. There, she tracked monsoonal patterns that affected global coffee, sugar, and cocoa production.
Moreover, she interned at NBC-affiliated WBAL-TV 11 television station in Baltimore, Maryland in the summer of her junior year. She also earned college credits storm-chasing with a small class from her college, driving over 3,000 miles in 10 days, following storms from Nebraska to New Mexico.
