Daniel Negreanu plans to leave no stone unturned in his quest to cement his status as one of the greatest poker players of all-time.

The seven-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner’s exploits at the tables have inspired many people to jump on the online poker bandwagon.

Platforms such as Betway Casino have been inundated with new players eager to follow in the footsteps of one of the game’s biggest personalities.

Many of those players will undoubtedly be following Negreanu with interest this year after he recently confirmed his schedule for the 2025 WSOP.

Negreanuwill begin his quest for bracelet number eight in the $1,000 Mystery Millions on May 27. His overall schedule provisionally includes 53 bracelet events.

After ending an 11-year bracelet drought in 2024 by winning the $50,000 Poker Players Championship, the Toronto-born star is eager for more success.

His legendary exploits in poker have not only earned him an army of fans worldwide, but also helped the game become a global phenomenon.

After playing poker full-time as a teenager, Negreanu made the bold decision to embark on a new life as a 21-year-old in Las Vegas.

He initially found the level of competition too hot to handle, but honed his craft by spending endless hours playing and studying how to master poker.

Negreanu finally broke the glass ceiling in 1997 when he was named the best all-round player at the Foxwoods’ World Poker Final.

He entered his first WSOP event the following year and became the youngest ever player (at the time) to win a bracelet when he claimed top spot in the $2,000 Pot Limit Hold ‘Em event.

Further successes followed, culminating in what many people believe was the best year of his career in 2004 when he won more than $4.4 million.

He made 11 final tables during the year, winning a third WSOP bracelet in Limit Hold ‘Em and two World Poker Tour (WPT) tournaments at the Borgata and Bellagio.

Negreanu subsequently branched out into other business ventures as his global profile grew, but poker remained central to his ‘personal brand’.

He continued to record successes on the poker circuit, most notably in 2013 when he added another two WSOP bracelets to his glittering career CV.

He also reached the championship events of both the European Poker Tour and WPT and finished second in the $2,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball event at the WSOP in Las Vegas.

Negreanu has been a major influence on many new poker players, who have utilised the strategies in his books to earn their place among the professional ranks.

His ‘Masterclass’ website is one of the most popular resources for poker players, offering valuable insights into the best strategies to use in cash games and tournaments.

Having already established himself as legendary figure in poker circles, Negreanu seems intent on further enhancing his status this year.

Winning an eighth WSOP bracelet is not beyond the Canadian and his legion of fans will be eager to see if he can achieve the feat.
