On Thursday, Wenzel will face the reigning 12-day champion, Harrison Whitaker. The researcher from Terre Haute, Indiana, continues his tremendous run on Jeopardy! as he has already accumulated a winning total of $330,000.

Wenzel is a songwriter, musician, and multi-instrumental singer. He is known for forming the band Wirehound.

Wenzel was recording his breakout album, Sleep All Day, in 2006 when the unfortunate death of his father sidetracked his project. He took a long break from writing and performing, and eventually started Wirehound 8 years later.
However, as Wenzel was trying to get on his feet, he got severely disabled in an accident. Following that, he was unable to stand or hold a guitar due to the Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
After a while, Wenzel went through surgery and went on the path of recovery. Soon, he teamed up with his band to release their debut album, The Anatomy of a Thought Undone.
