The Browns selected him with the 124th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. On 11 September 2012, he made his NFL debut against the Carolina Panthers.
York scored a 58-yard field goal with eight seconds left that beat the Panthers 26-24. He made the record for the longest kick by a rookie in Week 1 in NFL history.
The placekicker played college football at Louisiana State University (LSU). In his three seasons with the LSU tigers, he made 81.8 percent of his field goals and 97.6 percent of his extra points.
Before LSU, Cade attended Prosper High School in Texas. There he played both soccer and football. He stands at a height of 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 meters) and weighs 190 lbs (90 kg).
