At that time, Lionel was playing for Mallorca, on loan from Lazio. He spent four months finding her phone number. She was a volleyball player and he went to all the volleyball clubs in that locality to find her.
The couple then started talking and going out together. The duo reportedly got married on 19 May 2018. Afterward, he moved back to Italy and was accompanied by Elisa there.

Elisa and her husband share two children from their relationship. They have two sons named Ian Scaloni and Noah Scaloni.

The eldest one, Ian was born in Rome, Italy in 2012. Similarly, they welcomed their second son Noah in 2014 in Palma the capital of Mallorca. Scaloni announced the birth of both his sons with a postcard through his social media.
