Guy Branum is a writer and comedian from West Hollyhood, California. He is known for his work as a regular panelist and writer on Chelsea Lately on the E! network.

Branum has appeared on numerous shows, such as Totally Biased with W. Kamau BellConan@MidnightThe Nightly Show with Larry WilmoreThe Meltdown with Jonah and KumailStand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration, Road to Roast, and Debate Wars. He is a writer and Co-Executive Producer on the new Mel Brooks variety series History of the World, Part II.

In 2022, he co-produced and starred as Henry in Universal’s first gay romantic comedy Bros. He also appeared in the Apple TV series Platonic with Rose Byrne and Seth Rogan. 

As a writer, he has worked on numerous TV shows, including Hacks, The Other TwoThe Mindy Project, Punk’d, Awkward, Fashion Police, Q-Force, Connecting, and Billy on the Street. Furthermore, he has also written culture and political commentary for Slate.com, Pitchfork, The New York Times, and Vulture.

Guy’s  pop culture roundtable podcast, Pop Rocket was named one of the best new podcasts of 2015 by iTunes. He is the author of the 2018 book My Life As A Goddess: A Memoir Through (Un)Popular Culture, which made NPR’s 2018 Good Reads List and Entertainment Weekly’s Must List.

Guy Branum Is A New Jeopardy Contestant

Branum will be appearing as a contestant on the 41st season of the popular trivia game show Jeopardy! His debut episode will air on Friday, 4 April 2025.

As per the show’s format, he will be appearing alongside two contestants, including a returning champion. Bryce Wargin will be the returning champion, who secured his fourth straight win on the 3rd April episode.

Guy revealed his participation on the show through an Instagram post. In caption, he wrote, “In a life where many magical things have happened, here’s one more: I’m on @jeopardy this Friday.”

Guy Branum Family & Early Life

Branum was born on 12 November 1975 in Marysville, California. He is the son of Protestant father and Jewish mother.

As per wiki, his parents had married because of an unexpected pregnancy before he came along. He says that he did not have a good relationship with his father growing up. He is accompanied by a sister in the family.

Guy completed his high school at Sutter Union High School. Likewise, he obtained a degree in history and political science from the University of California, Berkeley in1998.

Afterward, he moved to Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota Law School. There, he was on the school’s Quiz Bowl team that placed third at CBI nationals in 1999.
