Kara Peruccio From Jeopardy: Her Wiki & Family Life Explored

Kara Peruccio is a university professor from Bangor, Maine. She will be making her television debut as a contestant on the longest-running trivia game show, Jeopardy, this season.

Likewise, her debut episode airs on Friday, 9 May 2025. There, she will challenge a returning previous episode champion, Dan Moren, and another new contestant, Zach Dickstein, a café manager from Chicago, Illinois.

Dan secured his second straight win on the 8 May episode with a final score of $16,300.  He has now accumulated total two-day winnings of $33,500.

Peruccio, a lifetime Jeopardy fan, is glad that she fulfilled her longtime goal of appearing on the show. She first auditioned for the show’s College Tournament but did not get picked. 

Moreover, she applied for Jeopardy in 2011 but was unable to come for taping because she was teaching English in Turkey. She then applied in 2020, but the show at the time focused on local contestants and faced other COVID-19 restrictions. 

Finally, she applied for the show in September 2024 and got selected.  She went to Los Angeles for the taping of the show in March 2025. Regarding her experience on the show, she said, 

One of the highlights was meeting and becoming friends with the other contestants! They were all such cool, interesting people, and now we have a group chat going. Seeing the Alex Trebek stage was amazing, and it’s actually much smaller than you might expect.
