Ramsey is probably in her 30s. She is originally from Storrs, Connecticut, United States.
Ramsey is of American nationality and white ethnicity. Talking about her family, her father is Stan Ramsey.
Her father, Stan, shared the news of her participation on Jeopardy! on his Facebook account. Stan mentioned in his post that the father-daughter duo together applied for the show for years and Kristen finally made it.
Ramsey obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Florida State University in 2012. She then earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry from UC San Diego in 2018.
What Is Kristen Ramsey’s Job?
While at Florida, Ramsey worked as a research assistant from August 2008 to July 2013. She was then a graduate student and PHD candidate at the University of California, San Diego for 5 years and 1 month.
Ramsey was then a postdoctoral fellow at The Johns Hopkins University from October 2018 to July 2024. Since August 2024, she has been serving as an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut.
Ramsey began research in enzymology as an undergraduate at the age of 17, culminating in the award of a Goldwater Scholarship as a junior. In Connecticut, she runs the Ramsey Lab, which is focused on integrating rigorous molecular biophysical approaches with cell-based functional assays to define the biochemical and biophysical mechanisms of key interactions by the RIG-I-like receptor (RLR) family of innate immune RNA sensors.
