VanBlargan is 36 years old, born in the year 1988. She was just 23 years old when she appeared on the TV game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2011.

A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she was raised by her parents there. Her father is Ed VanBlargan and her mother is Nancy Bickmeyer VanBlargan. They have been married since October 1987.

Kristen is accompanied by a twin-sister named Laura VanBlargan and a younger sister Caroline VanBlargan. Caroline is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Penn State University.
