After giving an audition three times, Liz finally got selected as a contestant on Jeopardy! in April 2023. Sharing her experience in an interview, Liz said,
I learned to read at an early age, and was given a great love of learning by my parents and family. I can remember a lot of the facts I’ve been exposed to, and am lucky to have the ability to come up with answers quickly.
Moreover, talking about the audition process, Liz added,
If you’ve ever watched the show and thought, ‘Hey, I know a lot of these questions,’ give it a try. The online test is offered frequently, and you never know. I tried it, I was invited, and it was one of the most exciting and fun experiences of my life!
Liz has been a fan of Jeopardy! since a young age. Back then, she used to watch the trivia show with her parents. Now, she is continuing the tradition with her twin kids.
As Liz makes her debut on Tuesday, she will look to end the winning momentum of Monday’s champ, David Bederman. With a win on the last episode, David now sits handsomely with a one-day total of $28,401.

Liz was born Elizabeth Asklar in 1964 in Niagara Falls, New York, United States. She is now 58 years of age and she celebrates her birthday in the month of December every year.
Born in Niagara Falls, Liz now resides in Broomall, Pennsylvania. She started living in Pennsylvania in 1986 when she was 22 years old.
Liz was born to her parents, Eugene Asklar and Eleanor Asklar. Her father, Eugene was a LaSalle Preparatory teacher for 31 years. Sadly, he passed away in November 2022.
Talking about her late father’s love for Jeopardy!, Liz said,
My late father was a big fan. Even though he’s not here in person, I’m sure he’s proud and excited.
Liz grew up alongside her two siblings. She has a sister who traveled to Los Angeles with her for her Jeopardy! episode taping on 18 and 19 May in 2023. Moreover, Liz shares a special bond with her brother named John Asklar.
