Mario Rodriguez is an American actor known for his appearance in the 2016 supernatural horror-comedy movie, Boo! A Madea Halloween. He is now surfacing in the media headlines after he accused the director of the same movie of sexual assault.
Rodriguez became the second actor in recent times to accuse American actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry of sexual misconduct. Previously, American actor Derek Dixon sued Perry with the same charges in June 2025.

Now, Rodriguez has filed a lawsuit accusing Perry of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress on 25 December 2025. While he is seeking $77 million in damages, he has also named Lionsgate in the suit, alleging the studio failed to act.
Rodriguez’s representative is attorney Jonathan J. Delshad, who previously represented Dixon. Moreover, Perry’s attorney said in the statement,
Having recently failed in another matter against Mr. Perry, the very same lawyer has now made yet another demand from more than a decade ago which will also be a failed money grab.
Based on the lawsuit, a Los Angeles gym trainer approached Rodriguez in 2015, mentioning that Perry wanted to meet him. He was then offered a small role in the Madea Halloween film.
Rodriguez has complained that Perry would then invite him over to his home, claiming to discuss future work projects. However, instead of professional talk, he would make sexual advances on Rodriguez after getting drunk.
Rodriguez described an incident in November 2018 when Perry allegedly grabbed his p****, to which the actor physically struggled to get away. His lawsuit claimed that after these incidents, Perry apologized and even handed him $5,000 in compensation.
Perry would later try to reach out to Rodriguez in 2024 via text, claiming that he was feeling betrayed after knowing Rodriguez was going to speak out about the matter in public.
