Ahmed fearlessly risked his life to wrestle the weapon from one of the gunmen during the recent act of terror at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.

Two gunmen opened fire on Sunday, 14 December 2025, at the crowded tourist destination in Sydney, killing 12 and injuring around 29 people. The situation could have gone worse hadn’t Ahmed risked his life and put down one of the attackers himself.
In the video released online, Ahmed, with no gun experience, was seen sneaking through the cars and catching the gunman off guard before stealing his weapon and pointing it towards him. Unfortunately, Ahmed was also shot twice during the process and is now undergoing surgery in the hospital.
Ahmed’s cousin, Mustafa, spoke with the press and gave an update about him. He said,
He’s in hospital and we don’t know exactly what’s going on inside. We do hope he will be fine. He’s a hero 100 per cent.
As per media reports, the shooting was targeted at a Jewish event for the Hannukkah festival. With the suspect in custody, the threat is no longer active.
Australian police have confirmed that one of the gunmen was shot dead. Similarly, they also revealed the identity of one of the gunmen, a 24-year-old Naveed Akram. However, it is unknown if he is the deceased attacker.
