Andy Tirrell is a political science and international relations professor from San Diego, California. Besides, he is known for his appearance on the 39th season of Jeopardy in 2022.
There, he made his first appearance on the 6 December 2022 episode. He ended the winning streak of the beloved super-champ and 21-day winner Cris Pannullo, a customer success operations manager from Ocean City, New Jersey. However, he was unable to continue his winning streak on the next episode.

After more than a year of his first appearance, he is returning to the show again. He is a part of Jeopardy! Champions Wildcard Tournament this season. The tournament began at the close of 2022 to give contestants who came close in recent games the chance to champion the trivia game again.
Tirrell will return on the 16 January 2024 episode of the tournament. There, he will face two previous season Jeopardy champions; Katie Palumbo, a museum membership specialist from Amawalk, New York, and Sharon Stone, an early childhood intervention manager from Round Rock, Texas.

Andy Tirrell Age, Family & Education
Andy Tirrell has reached the age of 46 now. He was born Andrew Robert Tirrell in the year 1977 and celebrates his birthday in the month of June every year.
As per wiki sources, he hails from Canton, Massachusetts, and grew up with his family there. He says that he used to watch Jeopardy! with his mother when he was a kid and always thought that maybe, one day, he could also be one of those contestants on the show.
After graduating from high school, he went to Brandeis University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Classical Languages in 2002. Moreover, he earned a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law in 2005. He then obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Politics, International Law, and International Relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University in 2015.
Tirrell is multilingual and has a good command of English, Spanish, Latin, French, German, Norwegian, Italian, and Portuguese languages.
What Is Andy Tirrell’s Job?
Tirrell now serves as an Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of San Diego. There, he also teaches Law and serves as a director of Master’s Program in International Relations.
Moreover, he has published numerous journal articles on the role of institutions in fisheries policy, the role of bridge organizations in fostering trust in fisheries management, transboundary water policy at the Mexico-U.S. border, and how the Law of the Sea could have been better equipped to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to that, he taught at Tufts University, Boston College, and Harvard University. His research, publications, and teaching focus on environmental governance, human rights, and natural resource management. Tirrell is also a research fellow at the Global Development and Environment Institute.
Andy also practiced litigation with the law firm Arent Fox Schiff. He was a staff attorney at the civil rights organization Advocates for Children (NYC). Furthermore, he was a consultant to the international development organization Plan International in Bangladesh, India, Kenya, and Thailand.
