Born Mark Randall Meadows on 28 July 1959, his father was in the United States Army and his mother worked as a civilian nurse. Before moving into politics, he worked as the customer service and public safety director for Tampa Electric, the founder of a small sandwich shop, and a real-estate developer.
From 2013 to 2020, he served as the U.S. representative for North Carolina’s 11th congressional district. During his tenure, he was a member of the House Freedom Caucus and was elected as its chairman in November 2016.
Mark was regarded as one of Donald Trump’s closest allies in Congress before his appointment as White House chief of staff. While serving in the position, he played an influential role in the Trump administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, he faced criminal charges as he allegedly participated in Trump’s failed effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. He was indicted along with 18 other people in the prosecution related to the 2020 election in Georgia on 14 August 2023.

Debbie and Mark have been enjoying their married life for several decades. Despite her husband’s high-profile career, she prefers to stay away from the limelight.

Blake (born in January 1992) graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in American Politics and Policy from Patrick Henry College in 2014. He is now a partner at Smith & Meadows, a full-service law firm for businesses and business owners.
