Klages is set to make her trivia show debut on 22 May 2024. On Wednesday’s episode, she will face the returning Jeopardy! champion, Chris D’Amico, and a Graduate Student from Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey, Amar Kakirde.

D’Amico, a resident of Lakewood, Ohio became a new Jeopardy! champion on 21 May 2024. The Verifications Specialist ended the four-game winning streak of Grant DeYoung and added $25,100 to his winning total.

Ellen Klages Wiki and Bio: Age, Ethnicity, Education

Ellen Janeway Klages was born in 1954 in Columbus, Ohio, United States. She has now lived in San Francisco, California for more than five decades. She is 69 years of age and her birthday falls on the 9th of July every year.

Klages completed her high school education at Bexley High School in 1972. Eventually, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at the University of Michigan in 1976.

With American nationality, Ellen has a white ethnicity.  

Ellen Klages Family Life: Meet Her Parents and Siblings

Ellen was raised by her parents, John W. Klages and Virginia Booze Klages. Her parents married on Valentine’s Day in 1948.

Klages’ father, John served as a military man during the Second World War in the European theatre. Moreover, he was the President of the Columbus Auto Parts Company.

Sadly, John passed away on 8 April 2008 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Before that, Ellen had lost her mother, Virginia in 1993.

Ellen grew up alongside her two sibling sisters, Mary Klages and Sally Klages. Her middle sister, Mary has been serving as an English Professor at the University of Colorado for more than three decades now.

Ellen is an award-winning author. She published her first novelette, Time Gypsy in 1999 and it became a finalist for the Nebula Award and Hugo Award.

Moreover, Klages was nominated for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2000. Her first novel, The Green Glass Sea, which was published in 2006 won the Scott O’Dell Award for Historical Fiction, the Lopez Award for Children’s Literature, and the New Mexico State Book Award for Young Adult Literature.

Ellen then released its sequel in 2008 titled White Sands, Red Menace which won the California and New Mexico Book awards in the Young Adult category. Similarly, Klages’ third novel, Out of Left Field, won the Ohioana Book Award and the Children’s History Book Prize.

Klages’ 2005 novelette Basement Magic won the Nebula Award in 2005. On top of that, her 2017 novelette, Passing Strange won the British Fantasy Award, the World Fantasy Award, and the Gaylactic Spectrum Award.

Apart from writing, Ellen is also a graduate of the Second City Conservatory, the Clarion South Workshop. She has served for two decades on the Motherboard of the James Tiptree, Jr. Literary Award.
