The Broncos drafted him in the second round 35th overall of the 2021 NFL Draft. Subsequently, he made his NFL debut in the Week 1 game against the New York Giants on 12 September 2021.
Williams played college football at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 35 games for the team, he rushed 366 times for 2,297 yards with 29 touchdowns and caught 50 passes for 539 yards with four scores.
