Vogel was named the head coach of the Lakers on 13 May 2019. He led the Lakers to win the 17th NBA title in its history in 2020.
Previously, he served as the head coach of the NBA teams Indiana Pacers (2011–2016) and Orlando Magic (2016–2018). He began his career as the head video coordinator for the Boston Celtics, working under its head coach Rick Pitino.
