Poker veteran Jeremy Ausmus is currently leading the Player of the Year race. In his 17th year as a pro player, Ausmus is having massive success at the poker table. So far in his career, Ausmus earned $11.9 million, and it all started in 2005 when he moved to Las Vegas.
The three-time Golden Bracelet winner has a bachelor’s degree earned at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and while he was in college, Jeremy already played significant poker.
From Online Poker To Live Tournaments
In his poker beginnings, Jeremy Ausmus played on various online poker platforms. Three golden bracelets
Although they don’t usually mean the highest-earning, winning a gold bracelet is prestigious in the world of poker. Jeremy Ausmus won his first WSOP in Enghien-les Bains in 2013. Ausmus cashed in $400,000 in the six-handed event for WSOP in 2014.
Among his other massive tournament earnings, Ausmus was second at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker in Hollywood, Florida, in 2018, where he got $540K. Second place at party poker live Millions Vegas Main Event earned him $650,00. Ausmus finished 2019 as 17th on the Player of the year list, and he got on the roll in 2021 and 2022.
Recent success
At the end of the 2021 season, Ausmus won a $50,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha event, defeating Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu for his second-best career earnings of $1.1 million and the third gold bracelet. His second also came in 2021 at the No Limit Hold ’em Charity Event, where he won a small cash prize by his standards of $48,687. The last few months of 2021 and the first couple in 2022 were highly lucrative for the 42-year-old poker star. He earned $3.4 million. Lion share came from the Omaha tournament, but he also got $824K from PokerGo Cup high-roller tournaments.
Ausmus made the final table in four events with one win, one second, and two third places. As a result, Jeremy Ausmus became a player in the series and earned additional prize money. March 2022 was incredibly lucrative for Ausmus, with another six cashes and five final-table finishes. He also won the US Poker Open no-limit hold’em. With 12 final-table finishes on Player of the Year events and huge earnings of $1.4 million, Ausmus is the current leader for POY.
When talking about poker tournaments, Jeremy focuses on wins and tournament prizes and not so much on golden bracelets. Statistics of poker players can be deceptive because it counts only tournament winnings and doesn’t include the buy-in that can go up to $200,000.
Although he had a massive 2021 statistically, before his hot streak at the end of the year, he felt it was one of the worst years in his career. However, currently, he is leading the Player of the Year standings and has serious success at the poker table.
