Jerry Powers is a retired elementary teacher from Fanwood, New Jersey. He is now making a new name as a Jeopardy contestant to appear on the show this season.

In the new Jeopardy episode, he will compete against a returning champion Daniel Moore, a contract compliance analyst from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Additionally, his other competitor will be Leann Craumer, a Librarian from Catonsville, Maryland.

Daniel is a one-day champion who marked his first win on the 14 June episode last week. He ended the winning streak of a two-day champion Ittai Sopher leading in all the rounds. He has an exceptional one-day winning amount of $25,000.
On the other hand, Powers is excited to be part of America’s favorite quiz show, Jeopardy! On appearing on the show, he wrote on his Facebook stating,
Hi everybody. I want to thank you all for your well wishes and hope you tune in to Jeopardy! this Monday the 17th. After the show you can go to jeopardy.com/conversations and hopefully hear our conversation with Ken Jennings
Likewise, he urged his Facebook followers to watch and cheer him on. He will make his debut on the show on the new episode which airs on 14 July 2023.
Well, Jeopardy is in its 39th season of syndication which has been airing since 1984. It is now hosted by Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik after the death of veteran host Alex Trebek in 2020.
There, contestants are given general knowledge clues in the form of answers and they must identify the person, place, thing, or idea that the clue describes, phrasing each response in the form of a question.

According to his Facebook, he was a 5th Grade Teacher at Redwood School located in West Orange, New Jersey. However, he has not shared details about his past experiences.
