Jon Barilone is a public relations and marketing consultant from Aliso Viejo, California. Besides, he is popular as a contestant in the 43rd season of America’s longest-running trivia game show, Jeopardy!
Barilone first took the online test to become a part of Jeopardy! In 2016. It then took him 10 years of studying and auditioning before he finally got the call in early August 2026 to get a chance to feature in the show’s 43rd season.
However, Barilone’s debut airs on election night as the U.S. House of Representatives contest for the position on Tuesday. Sharing the entire experience on his LinkedIn profile, Barilone wrote a week earlier,
In just 1 week, the world will hear Johnny Gilbert say “A Public Relations & Marketing Consultant from Aliso Viejo, Jon Barilone!” Unfortunately, my debut is Tuesday, November 3 and will definitely get pre-empted by national news coverage of election night. 😭
So, we’re putting together a virtual watch party for Wednesday, November 4 instead. We’ll watch the episode and then you’re welcome to stick around for Q&A. If you want an invite, please message me. If you can’t join, go to https://lnkd.in/gkZXDV4U to learn how you can watch the episode. (NOTE: I literally can’t tell you the outcome or any specifics about the episode until it’s aired, so please don’t ask…)
In the meantime, you have my permission to share this post and brag to everyone you know!
In the episode, Barilone will face the returning two-day champion, Erica Doornek. The federal employee from Glasgow, Montana, enjoys a winning sum of $39,000.
Apart from Doornek, Barilone will share the stage with another challenger, Tamara O’Flaherty. She is a lawyer from New York, New York.
