Katelyn Smith is an American journalist currently working for WGAL News 8, an NBC-affiliated station in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States.

The journalist now works as a Breaking News Anchor for the network. She appears on the weekend morning show, WGAL News 8 Today from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Smith has been working at WGAL for nearly two decades. In 2014, she won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for her contribution to the related field.
Katelyn joined the station in 2004 and began working as a reporter. Later, she worked as a weekend anchor and was promoted to the position of Breaking News Anchor in May 2020. Prior to that, she spent three years in the Midwest, working at stations in Illinois and Iowa.

Smith has now reached the age of her 30s. She celebrates her birthday on 13 March but her birth year is yet to be revealed.
The anchor attended Carlisle High School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. After graduation, she went to study at Shippensburg University.
Katelyn is also known as “Katie” by her friends. In her spare time, she enjoys running and watching movies.

Katelyn is enjoying married life with her husband Joel D. Smith. They have been together for 18 years.
The couple exchanged wedding vows on 21 August 2004. The wedding ceremony was held in her hometown, Carlisle.

Both Smith and her husband are in the related profession. Joel is also an Emmy-award-winning journalist who now serves as a Sports Director for CBS 21 News in Harrisburg.
