Kristin Harila is a Norwegian mountaineer and former cross-country skier. She now has a world record for the fastest ascent of 14 peaks (all 8000m above peaks).
Kristin completed this incredible feat in just 92 days with her ascent to K2 on Thursday, 27 July 2023. She and fellow Nepalese mountaineer, Tenjen (Lama) Sherpa scaled the world’s second-highest peak in Pakistan today to set a new world record.

With that, Kristin has smashed the fastest summit record of 14 peaks held by Nepali-born British mountaineer, Nimal Purja aka Nims Dai. Nims Dai previously held the world record for climbing all these peaks in 6 months and 6 days.
Previously, Kristin set a world record becoming the fastest woman to climb Mount Everest and Lhotse in under 12 hours in May 2021. She then took a challenge to become the first woman in history and the second person ever to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in 2022.
However, although Kristin successfully came close to beating Nimal Purja’s record back then, she couldn’t gather the permits from Chinese authorities to climb Cho Oyu and Shishapangma. Unfortunately, her record hunt ended at that point.

Kristin then finally achieved her goal of reaching all true summits on 3 May 2023 after 1 year and 5 days. She then started her quest to beat her own record on 26 April 2023.
Fortunately, 92 days later on 27 July 2023, Kristin did what no one could imagine by becoming the fastest person ever to climb all 14 highest peaks in the world.
