Burke had a disastrous married life after her then-husband, Mark Kandel was involved in a sexting incident back in 2012. Mark was charged with sending lewd text messages to an underage boy.
In fact, Kandel was charged with sexting five underage boys. He pleaded guilty to one count of online enticement of minors and was sentenced to 14.6 years in prison by U.S. District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo in October 2013.
Regarding the case, federal prosecutors claimed that Mark had exchanged more than 900 text messages with a then-17-year-old boy, asking the boy to send nude and explicit pictures in exchange for money and gifts.
Prior to that, Kandel was also charged with misconduct with juveniles in 2008. He was accused of one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
