Monica Alba is an American journalist best known as a White House correspondent for NBC News. She has been working at NBC News for more than 14 years now.

The ad in question actually targeted Ramaswamy’s Democratic opponent, Dr. Amy Acton. It featured Acton’s estranged mother, who lost custody of Acton when she was 12 years old, as her husband was accused of raping Acton.

As Trump spoke with reporters on the White House lawn before departing for a campaign rally on October 22, 2026, Alba confronted Trump by asking why he was actively defending the ad and advising Ramaswamy to keep running it.

Alba firmly asked, “But do the sexual abuse allegations mean nothing to you, sir?” To which Trump ordered her to be quiet and insulted her, calling her a “horrible little reporter, aren’t you?”

While Alba didn’t back down from her stance, Trump continued to claim that the ad campaign was fair.
