Filgueiras was co-piloting a Bahamas-bound Learjet 60 alongside 55-year-old captain Jeff Gregory. The flight, which originated from Austin, Texas, carried seven passengers—including a Texas family with two young children, a nanny, and family friends.

As per the news sources, the victims were tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife, Helen Sharp, and their children, 4-year-old Emma and 2-year-old Charlie alongside their nanny Anita Maria Cetina. Additionally, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr were also among the victims.
Nathalia made headlines in 2023 after earning her private pilot’s license at the age of 17, before even getting her driver’s license. She began flying lessons and ground-school classes in 2020, with support from her father, who was also a pilot.
While attending high school, she joined the Palm Beach County School District’s Aviation Academy, which helped fund her training. By September 2023, she had passed her aviation knowledge test and accumulated 88 flight hours, earning her private pilot’s license. She had also accumulated approximately 1,300 flight hours.
The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has already stated that it will investigate whether parts of a jet that crashed in Florida broke off before it nose-dived and exploded, which lost the lives of nine people on board.
