The Sparks drafted her in the second round, 19th overall in the 2022 WNBA draft. She made her WNBA debut against Seattle Storm on 20 May 2022.
Nelson-Ododa had a remarkable collegiate career at the University of Connecticut (UConn). As a senior, she recorded 7.5 rebounds per game, 116 total assists, and 55 total blocks.
Before UConn, she played basketball for Winder-Barrow High School in Winder, Georgia. Moreover, she was named Miss Georgia Basketball as a senior, averaging 19 points, 16 rebounds, and six blocks per game.
