Pete DeJoy is the new interim CEO of the company Astronomer. The decision was made late, following the resignation of former CEO Andy Byron on Saturday, 19 July 2025.
Byron’s resignation followed an unfortunate incident that occurred during the Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium on July 16, 2025. He was seen sharing an extramarital affair with the company’s HR head, Kristin Cabot, in the Kiss Cam segment.
As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.

The Kiss Cam clip drew worldwide attention online and in the media. After that, the Astronomer’s board had to place both Byron and Cabot on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
Byron also released an official statement on 17 July where he apologized to his wife, his family members, and the team at Astronomer. His words were,
You deserve better from me as a partner, as a father, and as a leader.
While Byron has left the company, Cabot is still working as Chief People Officer.
