Robert Akerlof is popularly known as the son of Janet Yellen, the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States.
Yellen is an American economist and has been serving as the 78th United States Secretary of the Treasury since 26 January 2021. Previously, she served as the 15th chair of the Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2018.

Janet was a faculty member at the London School of Economics from 1978 to 1980. She serves as the professor emeritus at the Haas School of Business and the University of California, Berkeley, where she has been a faculty member since 1980 and became the Eugene E. and Catherine M. Trefethen Professor of Business Administration and Professor of Economics.
In June 1978, Janet married George Akerlof, an economist who is a university professor at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. Additionally, he also serves as Koshland Professor of Economics Emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley. Together, they have a son named Robert Akerlof.

Akerlof has reached the age of 42 now. He was born Robert Joseph Akerlof to parents Janet Yellen and George Akerlof in June of 1981 in Berkeley, California.

Robert’s father George was awarded the 2001 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, jointly with Michael Spence and Joseph Stiglitz, “for their analyses of markets with asymmetric information.”
