Rudabeh Shahbazi is a four-time Emmy award-winning journalist. She now serves as an anchor at CBS LA at 5 pm, 9 pm, and 11 pm newscasts.
Since joining the station as a morning anchor in 2022, she has been at the forefront of breaking news and in-depth reporting on stories that matter to Southern Californians from both the anchor desk and the field. She was named co-anchor of the weekday evening newscasts alongside legendary broadcaster Pat Harvey in April 2025.

Prior to that, she was a weekend anchor on NewsNation. There, she covered many of the country’s biggest stories, including President Biden’s inauguration from Delaware, the George Floyd and Jacob Blake cases and subsequent civil unrest, the Surfside condo collapse in Miami-Dade, and deadly tornadoes in Kentucky, among others.
Shahbazi served as the morning and evening anchor at WFOR-TV in Miami for five years. While working there, she was voted Best Anchor in Miami by the Miami New Times and one of the “Most Influential Women of South Florida” by Ocean Drive Magazine.
From 2011 to 2015, she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. Moreover, she was a reporter at KNXV-TV in Phoenix, where she was a General Assignment Reporting Emmy Winner.

Rudabeh began her broadcasting career as an education reporter at KEPR-TV in Pasco, Washington. Before that, she worked behind the scenes as a news assistant at KTVU-TV in Oakland, California.

Rudabeh Shahbazi Is A Cancer Survivor
Shahbazi revealed that she has the cancer of the immune system in September 2024. It was on a KCAL morning segment about September being lymphoma awareness month.
Moreover, she said that she suffered from non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which affects an estimated 80,000 Americans every year.
