Scott announced his resignation at a trustees meeting just minutes after Penn President Liz Magill announced she would step down. Obtained by The Daily Pennsylvanian, his full announcement reads,
Today, following the resignation of the University of Pennsylvania’s President and related Board of Trustee meetings, I submitted my resignation as Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, effective immediately. While I was asked to remain in that role for the remainder of my term in order to help with the presidential transition, I concluded that, for me, now was the right time to depart.
Bok is also the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Greenhill & Co. There, he previously served as Co-President and a director.
Besides, he also serves as a Chair of the Board of Trustees of the American Museum of Natural History. He is a Chair Emeritus of Prep for Prep, a New York-focused organization focused on educational opportunities for students of color.
