Shanlon Wu was born in 1959 in Westchester County, New York, United States. He is 64 years of age and he celebrates his birthday on the 13th of May every year.

Shan was raised by the only child of his Chinese immigrant parents. Both of his parents were professors at Hunter College.

Talking about his family history, Shan’s parents came to the United States as a graduate student. They decided to stay in the States as political refugees after the Chinese Communist Revolution.

Growing up, Shan had no grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins as his parents left behind their families when they moved to the United States. However, his parents never made him feel lonely.

Back in 2021, Shan mentioned his late aunt in his Instagram post. With the picture of his mother and his aunt with their parents, Shan revealed that his aunt, Tian Jin had passed away.
