Well, Luton got promoted to the Premier League for the first time after beating Coventry City in the Championship play-off final held on 27 May 2023. They became eligible to compete in the Premier League with a 5-6 win in a penalty shootout 

However, Lockyer was unable to celebrate the wonderful achievement with his teammates. He was stretched off the pitch just 12 minutes into the first half. 

The defender was carried off and given oxygen by the medical teams while taken through the tunnel. He was conscious and taken to a medical room at Wembley Stadium where he stayed with his family.

Tom celebrated the club’s historic achievement of a hospital bed. He took his Twitter and Instagram to demonstrate his happiness with a picture of celebrating in bed.

The player joined the team in September 2020 on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic. He played for Charlton Athletic for a single season during the 2019-20 season.

Lockyer began his career as a youngster at Radyr Ranger and later joined the youth team of Cardiff City at the age of 11. After the team released him in 2011, he signed a scholarship for Bristol Rovers. He played for the Rovers from 2012 to 2019.
