Dennis Basso is an American fashion designer from New York, New York. He has been working for over 35 years and has been hailed by both celebrity and private clients. Currently, he appears on the fashion and lifestyle show Dennis Basso & Friend on QVC.

Furthermore, his designs have been prominently featured on screen with stars including Meryl Streep, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger, Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, and Jennifer Lopez. From fur and evening wear to bridal and accessories, his designs are consistently featured in the media and at red-carpet gatherings worldwide.

Basso has been in the business since 1983 and his ventures have expanded across the United States. In 2002, he opened his first freestanding boutique at the Little Nell Hotel in Aspen, followed by his flagship on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, which was opened in 2003. He also owns a 2,400-square-foot in-store boutique at Harrods.

In 2011, he launched an exclusive collection of bridal designs for Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City. Likewise, he opened a new flagship located at 825 Madison Avenue in 2014. As of now, he has numerous flagship stores in prominent cities.

Dennis Basso Family & Early Life

Basso has reached the age of 70 now. He was born on 25 February 1954 in New York, New York, United States.

The designer is the only son of Richard D Basso and Theresa H Basso. His father was in the produce business whereas his mother was a stay-at-home mom. His love for fashion and styling comes from his mother who was always attracted to beautiful things.

Dennis pursued his high school education at Roxbury High School in Ledgewood, New Jersey. For further education, he went to the Catholic University of America in Washington, District of Columbia. Likewise, he studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. There. he received an honorary degree at its commencement ceremony in 2013.

Meet Dennis Basso’s Husband Michael Cominotto

Dennis is an openly gay man. He has been enjoying a decade of matrimony with his husband Michael Cominotto. 

The pair exchanged wedding vows on 22 November 2011. Moreover, the ceremony was held in front of 400 distinguished guests at The Pierre Hotel in New York.  Well, they were the first same-sex couple to be married at The Pierre Ballroom since its establishment.

Basso first met his future husband Michael through mutual friends in the year 1986. After being together for more than 20 years, they decided to get married.

Both the pair are involved in social welfare works. They even sponsored the renovation of the chapel at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
