Josh Schriver is an American politician who is a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 66. It contains Bruce and Washington townships in Macomb County and Addison, Brandon, Oakland, and Oxford townships in Oakland County.
Representing the Republican Party, he was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022. He assumed office on 1 January 2023, and his current term ends on 1 January 2025.
Besides, he serves as a member of the House Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism, and Outdoor Recreation committee.
Recently, he faced criticism after sharing a social media post about the “great replacement” theory. On 6 February 2024, he shared a post on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, that showed a map of the world with black figures taking up most of the land and white figures placed in a small portion, including the northern area of the United States, Canada, parts of Australia and parts of northern Europe.
Over the photo of the map was a text that read, “The great replacement!” He reposted the image and captioned it with an emoji that showed a graph with a line that depicted a decline in data.
The theory is a racist ideology that white people are being replaced through immigration, interracial relationships, and low birth rates from white individuals.
Schriver got a series of responses after sharing the post. The Michigan House Speaker Joe Tate described it as “blatantly racist” and “deeply and personally” offensive.

Moreover, Tate removed him from his committee assignments and office staff on 12 February 2024. Tate’s office said that he will still be able to vote on the House floor but his service on committees and access to office resources is subject to the “discretion and pleasure” of Tate, D-Detroit.
However, Schriver has refused to apologize stating,

Josh Schriver is 31 years old as of 2024. He was born Joshua Thomas Schriver in the year 1992 and celebrates his birthday in the month of March every year.
