Alexandra Eber is prominently known as the wife of American politician, lawyer, and former professional football player Colin Allred. Colin is the U.S. representative from Texas’s 32nd congressional district.


It includes the northeastern corner of Dallas, as well as many of its northeastern suburbs, such as Garland, Richardson, Sachse, Wylie, the Park Cities, and Rowlett. A member of the Democratic Party, he has been serving in the position since 3 January 2019.

Born Colin Zachary Allred on 15 April 1983, he is a former NFL linebacker who spent four years with the Tennessee Titans until 2010. The Titans drafted him in the 2006 NFL Draft. Prior to that, the 6-foot 1-inch played collegiate football at Baylor University from 2001 to 2004.  

After earning his J.D. degree from the UC Berkeley School of Law in 2014, he worked as a special assistant in the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of General Counsel alongside then-Secretary Julian Castro in the Obama administration. Likewise, he also served at the Executive Office for United States Attorneys.

Allred announced his candidacy in the 2024 United States Senate election in Texas on 3 May 2023. He won the Democratic nomination on 5 March 2024 and will face Republican Ted Cruz in the November general election.

Alexandra and her husband Colin have been married for more than six years. The couple exchanged wedding vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by nature on 25 March 2017.


The pair first met in a Law of Democracy class at the University of California Berkeley School of Law. After dating for some time, they were engaged on a sunny cliffside in Shenandoah National Park, a celebration of their love of hiking and the outdoors.
