Ben Ingram From Jeopardy: His Wiki & Family Life Explored

Ben Ingram is a Jeopardy contestant known for appearing on the 29th season of the show, He made his debut on the show on the 1st July 2013 episode. 

Eventually, he became an eight-time champion and bagged total winnings of $177,534 in nine appearances that season. He returned to the show for the 2014 Tournament of Champions and reached the final, where he faced Julia Collins and Arthur Chu.


Ingram became the winner of the tournament and took home the $250,000 grand prize. He again appeared in Jeopardy! stage for the All-Star Games in 2019. There, he was a member of first-eliminated Team Julia; splitting a $50,000 cash prize between Ingram, Collins, and Seth Wilson.

This time, Ben is in the Jeopardy stage again for the first-ever Invitational Tournament 2024. In this tournament, the champions and memorable participants from the past seasons come to compete once again.

Likewise, they will compete in nine quarterfinal games, three semifinals, and a best-of-four finals series: the first champion to win two games will be crowned the first-ever Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament champion. The winner will get a $100,000 grand prize and an invitation to compete in the “Jeopardy! Masters” 2024.

On the eighth quarterfinal episode, Ben will compete against Victoria Groce, a writer and television personality from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Dhruv Gaur, a graduate student from Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Victoria is a one-time champion on Jeopardy season 22 and also competed in the third season of the American version of The Chase. In addition, Dhruv is a winner of the Jeopardy 2018 College Championship and the semifinalist in the 2019 Tournament of Champions.

Well, it looks like the game will be competitive as all the contestants are trivia masters. The episode will air on 29 March 2024.

Ingram has reached the age of 41 now. He was born Benjamin Wall Ingram in the year 1982 and celebrates his birthday on the 10th of October every year.


Originally from Florence, South Carolina, he spent his early life with his family there. His family includes his mother Susan Ingram and a brother. His family comes from Anson County, North Carolina.

Ben pursued his high school education at Wilson High School, graduating in the year 2001. Following his appearance on Jeopardy, he was honored as Florence School District One’s Distinguished Graduate at the 14th Annual School Foundation Celebration Gala in 2015.

Afterward, he went to Wofford College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 2005. Additionally, he earned a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of South Carolina in 2008. He is also fluent in the German language.

Ingram is a married man. He has been enjoying a married life with his wife Liz Hutchens.

Liz is also a Jeopardy contestant who appeared in the 33rd season of the show on 25 November 2016 episode. They were dating at the time and Ingram encouraged her to try out for the show.

As of now, she works as a registered nurse based in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. She graduated from Wofford College with a degree in theatre in 2009.
