Initially, when went to the University of Southern California and later transferred to the University of Virginia. She redshirted at both universities but did not play because of meniscus surgery.
As of now, Branstine ranks world No. 687 in the WTA singles ranking. She reached a career-high ranking of No. 468 on 19 July 2019.
Moreover, she had a career-high ITF junior ranking of No. 4 on 17 July 2017. She won her first junior singles title in 2014 at the G4 in Boca Raton, Florida.
