Hester Bass From Wikipedia: Meet The Author & The Jeopardy Contestant

Hester Bass is a writer from Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has made a new name for herself as a contestant on the 42nd season of Jeopardy.

Likewise, she will make her debut on the longest-running quiz game show on Tuesday, 23 September 2025. There, she will compete against two more contestants, including a returning champion from the previous episode.

Steven Olson will be a returning champion for the upcoming episode. A band director from Princeton, Illinois, he claimed his first win on his debut episode on 19 September.

Furthermore, he secured his second straight win on the 22 September episode with total winnings of $26,804. As a two-day champion, he has total winnings of $46,406. The other new contestant will be Justin Ames, an employment attorney from Jersey City, New Jersey.

Bass is excited for her debut on the legendary trivia game show this season. She is expecting a big win on her first appearance on Tuesday.

Hester Bass Wiki, Age & Family

Bass has reached the age of 68 now. She was born Hester Thompson in the year 1956 and celebrates her birthday on 17 October.

As per wiki, she was raised by her parents in rural Georgia, United States. Her love for writing was shaped by her mother’s love of language, her father’s love of family, and books by favorite authors such as Beatrix Potter and A.A. Milne.

Hester earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Simmons College. Following her college, she worked as a singer in a rock ’n’ roll band in Boston.

She began her journey towards story writing from a story that was about a green-eyed cat.

Hester Bass Is A Writer By Profession

Bass is a writer and calls herself a dream believer, goal achiever, and story weaver. 

In 2006, she published her first book, So Many Houses, illustrated by Alik Arzoumanian. Three years later, she published her second book, The Secret World of Walter Anderson, for which she won an Orbis Pictus Award for Outstanding Nonfiction for Children.

Hester is also the author of the picture book named Seeds of Freedom: The Peaceful Integration of Huntsville, Alabama, illustrated by E. B. Lewis. 

Earlier, she held a job at a wild animal park. She was also an actress/singing telegram messenger in Manhattan, and was on “The $50,000 Pyramid” with Dick Clark and “Millionaire” with Meredith Vieira.

Bass has been relishing decades of matrimony with her husband, Clayton Bass.

Clayton, a Fine Arts graduate of East Carolina University, is an artist from North Carolina. He is known for his tenure as the president and CEO of the Huntsville Museum of Art.
