Hutchings Royal Dano was born on May 21, 1992, in Santa Monica, California, United States. He is the son of actor Rick Dano and Piper Dano.

His father is known for his work on movies such as Big Wednesday (1978), Flight of the Intruder (1991), and Den Brother (2010). Meanwhile, his mother is a jewelry designer based in Venice, California. He has two sisters; Makenna and Abigail Dano. He is of English, Irish, and Ashkenazi Jewish descent from his family side.

Earlier, Hutch appeared commercial at the age of five. He made his acting debut in 2009 from the teen sitcom The Suite Life on Deck. He then got the lead role as Zeke Falcone in the sitcom Zeke and Luther.
