Jeopardy Contestant Leonard Cooper: His Wiki & Family Life Explored

Leonard Cooper is known for his appearance on the longest-running quiz game show, Jeopardy! He is the winner of the 2013 Jeopardy Teen Tournament.

Moreover, he became the finalist in the tournament by rule as having the highest nonwinning semifinal score after the second semifinal game ended without a winner. Eventually, he bagged a whooping prize of $75,000.

Contestants will compete in nine quarterfinal games, three semifinals, and a best-of-four finals series: the first champion to win two games will be crowned the first-ever Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament champion.

On the first episode on 21 March 2024, Leonard will compete against two former contestants; Jason Zuffranieri, a math teacher from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Larissa Kelly, a writer and academic from El Cerrito, California.

Jason a Season 35/36 19-game champion and 2021 Tournament of Champions semifinalist. Similarly, Larissa is a six-game champion of Season 24, 2009 Tournament of Champions first runner-up. She also participated in the Battle of the Decades and was an All-Star Games winner (as part of Team Brad).

Leonard Cooper is 28 years of age now. He was born Leonard William Cooper in the year 1996 and his birthday falls on 12 February which makes his birth sign Aquarius.

Moreover, he was 16 years old when he first participated in the Jeopardy teen tournament. He was the only Teen Tournament champion and the youngest player picked to compete.

A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, United States, he has American nationality. He pursued his high school education at eStem Public High Charter School, graduating in 2013. At high school, he was the captain of the eStem Quiz Bowl team and played weekly trivia at local pizza joints.

Cooper then went to Brown University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. From the same college, he earned a Master of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Biochemistry. He is now pursuing a Doctor of Psychology from Columbia University.

The Jeopardy contestant’s mother raised him on her own. She says that he hates public speaking, and she can’t recall ever hearing him raise his voice. He learned to read at the age of 2 and his interest in paleontology began at 3. 

The youngest in the family, Cooper is accompanied by an older brother named George Cooper. His parents named him after the son of Sheldon Cooper in the CBS Sitcom, The Big Bang Theory.
