Jon Champion is a British sports commentator currently working for the American channel ESPN. He is the lead play-by-play voice for Major League Soccer joining them in 2019.
Previously, he worked for the BBC and ITV for more than two decades. He has covered some big football events including the last seven FIFA World Cups.

Champion started his career with BBC Radio in the 1980s and later moved to BBC Television’s iconic football show, Match of the Day. Moreover, he joined ITV in 2001 and covered the UEFA Champions League match for them.
In 2007, he joined Setanta Sports UK to become its lead FA Premier League play-by-play announcer. Similarly, he began working for ESPN in the U.K. in 2009 until 2019.
Apart from sports commentaries, Jon has voiced on numerous commercials. He has covered three Olympic Games and World Cups in both rugby and cricket.
