Matt McCarty is an American professional golfer who competes in the PGA Tour. He earned a PGA Tour card for the 2025 season after winning the Price Cutter Charity Championship at Highland Springs Country Club on 21 July 2024.

With this win, he finished No. 7 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List and became eligible to compete on the PGA Tour. Likewise, his second Korn Ferry Tour win was the Pinnacle Bank Championship on 11 August 2024.
Currently, he is maintaining a lead for a second consecutive round at 19-under 194 at Albertsons Boise Open. He will carry a one-stroke lead into Sunday’s final round in his bid to earn the Three-Victory Promotion. This would grant him an immediate promotion to the PGA TOUR, thus making him eligible to compete in the FedExCup Fall.
McCarty has played just one PGA Tour event in his career; qualifying for the 2022 U.S. Open. He earned the Korn Ferry Tour membership for the first time ahead of the 2022 season with a T39 finish at the 2021 Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament (now PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry).

Furthermore, he turned professional in 2021 after five seasons of collegiate golf at Santa Clara University. His only professional win was at the 2021 Wyoming Open.
At Santa Clara, he earned All-West Coast Conference honors three times; 2018, 2019, and 2021. Similarly, he reached the quarterfinals of match play at the 2019 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship and also qualified as an individual for the 2021 NCAA Regionals.
