CREW is a nonprofit 501 U.S. government ethics and accountability watchdog organization. Founded in 2003, it works to expose ethics violations and corruption by government officials and institutions and to reduce the role of money in politics.
Bookbinder began taking the role of the President in March 2015. Prior to that, he served as the Director of the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs at the United States Sentencing Commission. Serving from 2013 to 2015, he coordinated legislative and public affairs for the commission.
From 2008 to 2013, he served as Chief Counsel for Criminal Justice for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee. He also served as a Counsel and Senior Counsel there.
Furthermore, he worked as a Trial Attorney for the United States Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section from 1999 to 2005. There, he investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of federal public corruption cases, ranging from bribery and contracting fraud to international immigration fraud schemes.
A case by Colorado voters, represented by @CREWcrew, to enforce Donald Trump’s disqualification under the 14th amendment has a specific basis in state law. Trump’s attorneys have already backed off of an attempt to move it to federal court. On @velshi. https://t.co/0ufhYWksf6
