1. Tammy Bruce Identifies As A Lesbian

Bruce talked about her sexual orientation publicly during her interview with C-SPAN in 2005. She stated that she was bisexual and added that for her identifying as a lesbian was a choice.

Tammy was born on 20 August 1962 in Los Northridge, California, United States. The 62-year-old is the daughter of Vera Louise Warren and Robert Benson Bruce, a bartender.

Bruce was raised primarily by her mother. She left schooling at the age of 12 and pursued her education independently. Later on, she earned a California high school equivalency diploma at 15.

Tammy also earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California.

2. She Was In A Relationship With Late Actress Brenda Benet

Bruce was just 17 years old when she started a romantic relationship with late actress, Brenda Benet. Brenda was known for her roles on soap operas like Days of Our Lives and The Young Marrieds.

Benet, aged 34 at that time, became romantically close to Bruce as the latter was serving as her personal secretary. However, the relationship turned sour as Benet was unable to cope with the tragic loss of her son from her previous marriage.

Before meeting Bruce, Benet was married to actor and director Bill Bixby. The two married in 1971 and later ended their marriage with a divorce in 1980.

Before that, the couple welcomed a son named Christopher Sean.

3. Bruce and Benet’s Relationship Ended After Benet Committed Suicide

Bruce and Benet’s relationship came to an end in 1982 after Benet decided to end her life. It was a year after the tragic death of her son, Christopher.

Benet’s six-year-old son Christopher died in March 1981 after suffering acute epiglottitis while they were on a weekend ski trip at Mammoth Lakes. He went into a coma and cardiac arrest after doctors carried out a tracheotomy.

After the tragedy, Benet was left devastated. She couldn’t focus on her relationship with Bruce and further sank into a severe depression. Eventually, she took her own life with a self-inflicted gunshot at her home in Los Angeles on 7 April 1982.

Since losing her partner, Bruce never dated anyone and she has never been married.

4. Tammy Bruce Is Part Of Trump’s Second Administration

Bruce enjoys around $2 million net worth from her professional career. The 31st Spokesperson for the United States Department of State is an American conservative radio host, author, and political commentator.
