Shane Whitlock is known for his appearance on the longest-running trivia game show, Jeopardy! He first appeared on College Jeopardy! tournament back in 1996.
Moreover, he also won the tournament by defeating contestants from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard, Yale, and Princeton Universities. He then appeared in the 1996 Tournament of Champions and reached the semi-final of the tournament.
In 2005, he made his third Jeopardy appearance in the Ultimate Tournament of Champions. There, he competed against 145 players, including Ken Jennings but only reached the semi-final.

Whitlock also earned the spot in the Battle of the Decades 90’s tournament in 2013. He played the qualifier round but could not reach the quarterfinal. He is appearing on Jeopardy again!
Besides, he also appeared on the 8th season of the U.S. version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2009. There, he won $5,000 after answering his $25,000 question incorrectly.

Shane Whitlock Is Appearing On Jeopardy This Season
Shane is set to appear on the Jeopardy for the fifth time this season. He is one of the contestants in the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament.
Moreover, he will be appearing in the quarterfinal game on 26 February 2025. He will be facing two former Jeopardy champions for a chance at the semi-finals.

The two other contestants are Ben Chan, a philosophy professor at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, and Claire Sattler, a comedian and research scientist from New York, New York.
Ben became a nine-day champion of the $252,600 on the 39th season of Jeopardy! Furthermore, Claire is the winner of the 2018 Teen Tournament and took home $100,000.
