Angella Okutoyi is a Kenyan tennis player who has a career-high ITF Junior Ranking of no. 49, achieved on 12 September 2022.

Okutoyi won the girls’ doubles title with Dutch partner Rose Marie Nijkamp at the 2022 Wimbledon Tennis Championship. Eventually, she became the first Kenyan to reach a final and win a Grand Slam tournament.

Furthermore, she became the first Kenyan to win a match at a junior girls’ Grand Slam event at the 2022 Australian Open Junior Championships. There, she won the first round defeating Italian qualifier Federica Urgesi, and defeated Australian Zara Larke in the second round.
However, she lost to Serbian Lola Radivojevic in the third round which made her the first Kenyan in the world to progress to a third round in a major. She now plays collegiate tennis at Auburn University and is in her freshman year.
Throughout her career, she has won one singles and two doubles titles in the ITF Circuit. Her one and only ITF doubles title was in July 2023 at the W15 Monastir in Tunisia, where she defeated American Isabella Harvison in the final.

As a junior, she has won six ITF junior singles titles and 13 doubles titles. She is a two-time African junior champion and was ranked as the best junior player in the continent of Africa. Additionally, she has played for Kenya Billie Jean King Cup team with a win/loss record of 11–5.

Born on 29 January 2004, Okutoyi has reached the age of 19 now. She hails from Nairobi, Kenya.

Angella began to play tennis at the age of four. Later, she moved to Burundy from her home country at the age of 10 and began training at the ITF East Africa Regional Training Centre.

Later, their grandmother Mary Ndonda took them to a small single servant quarter house in Loreto Convent. The duo was again taken to an orphanage home in Limuru where they spent their childhood.
Angella recalls her childhood stating that she grew up poor in her grandmother’s house. They had only one meal a day and they just had water for supper.

Okutoyi’s twin sister Roselinda is a rising tennis sensation. She has been playing ITF fixtures and local tournaments.
The duo competed in the Rwanda Open 2022, winning in doubles 6-1, 6-0 against Tanzanian third seeds Mao and Ester Nankulange. In the same tournament, Angela claimed her singles title beating her sister (2-0) 6-1, 6-2.
