After Ayo moved to Birmingham, United Kingdom with his family, he adopted the name ‘Andy.’ However, he later decided to change his name back to ‘Ayo,’ which is also his original birth name.
Speaking to BBC 5 Live’s Adrian Chiles in September 2016, Ayo revealed the real reason to change his name. He wanted to normalize his birth name to represent his community.
